Testing the RGB Video Mod

I have found this RGB mod for the Mattel Intellivision console fom a site, i have searched on the net if anyone has tried this mod, but nothing, so, i have tried to do it myself.

This mod is not easy to do, especially if one has no experience in electronics, however the result at the end is spectacular.

    Hi,

    I also tested the RGB mod of gamesx in 2011. I finally manufactured my own PCB for it. On one TV it worked fine, on a modern LCD flat from Sony it did not. I found out that there must be something special with the CSYNC signal. I even used an oscilloscope to investigate the CSYNC signal which was in some cases not good enough.

    Did you do any modifcations to the original gamesx layout? Would you be interested to exchange experiences?

    Regards, Christian

    Any chance of an NTSC version of this circuit?

    @Matth
    Unfortunately the NTSC version lacks of the RGB circuit inside the console, you cannot do anything.

    Where are you pulling the audio from?

    @Jordi

    Nevermind… found it. I was wondering however why you did not choose to grab +5V and ground from the pin of the removed chip on the mainboard but instead took it from somewhere else? Is it 12V that goes into the 7805?
