Philips Monitor VS0080 / MSX2

Autopsy:

I fixed two problems of this monitor: the PowerSwitch and the Video Composite input.

The monitor is a VS0080 RGB Color Monitor, which is technically identical to the Commodore 1084 Monitor, but with a black case to match the MSX colors

    Hi Dave,
    Looks like you did a great job on the Odyssey and this monitor, they look very nice again !
    Good luck with your site,

    Cheers, Gerben

    How interesting, it has the same case as some Commodore 1084 monitor but black and with Philips logo. I have both the 1084 and the 1084S (which is a different case).

    @Erkan

    Hi Erkan, it’s identical to the CM8833 except for the TTL RGB input and the case color.

    Hi! I know it’s an old post, but I am looking to replace the powerswitch on my identical monitor and I was looking for some reference. Do you recall where you got the new one from?
    Regards.

    @Brice

    Hi Brice,

    You can find it at any electronics store well stocked, absolutely you don’t find the same but you can adapt it, like done by me.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your response.
    I was hoping to be lazy and order one on the net, but I guess a trip to the store won’t hurt :-)

    Cheers!

    @Brice

    I don’t know if you already replaced this switch for your 1084 monitor but I just used this site for some inspiration, did it and worked like magic!
