Questa galleria di immagini descrive alcune fasi della riparazione delle due unità floppy Commodore SFD-1001.

Guasti riscontrati nei due Floppy Drives:

  • Entrambe le unità floppy avevano i condensatori elettrolitici che perdevano acido sul pcb del controllo del motore.
  • Entrambe le unità floppy avevano il blocco di chiusura e pressione Floppy Disk spezzato.

La difficolta e’ stata ricostruire le piste dello stampato e togliere il piu’ possibile l’acido fuoriuscito dai condensatori. Purtroppo a livello estetico questo tipo di riparazioni non riescono mai perfettamente, ma sono contento che ora funzionano.

Per testare il corretto funzionamento i Floppy Drives sono stati provati tramite l’interfaccia IEEE-488 con un Commodore CBM (PET) 2001 e un Commodore CBM 610.

    Thanks for these pics — I didn’t even know about the cap problem, and I enjoyed the pics of the cracked knob fix. I’ve had that problem myself. :)
