    Hello,
    What about the FD-235F 161-U?
    It has the same symptom but no caps.
    Some help?

    @Greg
    Look closer – the 161-U HAS a cap, namely C75, and that is also the one that leaked on me and also damaged the PCB.

    Can’t edit… here’s a picture: https://imgur.com/a/zD79Z
    Symptoms are that the motor is spinning too fast, so it can’t read anything. Also the motor continues to spin after a disk is removed.

    something´s wrong above? Mine: FD-235F-161-U
    these are NOT 3x ELKO 22µF. there are 3x normal condensators with 22µF used but NOT with polarity (sadly I ordered Elko´s in advance)
    My Elko on the other side (your second picture) is SMD variant named with C67, labeled J335 > measured: 3,54µF

    btw: no C75 as BenTennyso mentioned

    I have the exact same Floppy Drive TEAC FD-235F 114-U.

    Do the 3 capacitors with 22uF have a polarity? When yes, can you tell me where minus has to go?

    This is right for the 4.7uF capacitor. But the 22uF ones not have this marker.

    There is no such marker on the 22uF capacitors. Only on the 4.7uF.

    This marker is only on the 4.7 uF capacitor.
    On the 22uF ones i cannot see a minus marker.

    @ILAH

    You are right, 22uf are electrolytic capacitors non-polarized.

    Does anyone have any experience with a TEAC FD-235F 4161-U. The drive powers up but does not read discs … at all. This is my 1200′s internal drive.

    Does anyone have one of the drives that could spare part Y61?
    I have a FD-235F with very little use and this part is missing.

    I have a TEAC FD-235F 112-U floppy that is missing component Y61 next to the flat cable connector CN61.
    Does anyone have a scrap drive that I could get this component from?
    This drive was modified with a variable speed control that was connected to power, ground and one leg of where Y61 used to be.

    Hi, I have this same drive which also doesn’t read disks, so I want to change the capacitors.

    Problem is I just can’t find those non-polarity ones anywhere! Any tips on where to find them or if there is a good substitute for them? Thanks!

    My 161u floppy drive has non-polar capacitors and polarized c75. The problem is in c75. The acid has corroded the negative pad and the line and there is no continuity. There is continuity in the other leg. If I connect the negative leg to any gnd pad (for example, the negative pad of the smd capacitor just above), does it do the same job?
