I was very curious what ZeroPaige has written in the description of the Super Mario Bros 64 game, the game on the C64 DTV use the Turbo mode.
I have tried the game on my upgraded C64 DTV and in fact is much more fluid, i would say perfect except for a few graphics glitches.
Below what ZeroPaige writes about the Turbo mode:
Since the NES-processor is clocked (roughly 70%) faster than a stock C64 there can be slowdowns during gameplay. A pixel indicates this on the time-watch graphics in the status bar.
This port will try to detect and use any kind of turbo functionality, such as:
- Commodore 128 (2 MHz in the border)
- C64 DTV
- Schnedler Systems Turbo Master CPU (untested)
- Swisscomp Turbo Processor (untested)
- Rossmoeller Flash 8 (untested)
- CMD SuperCPU Accelerator (untested)

DirMaster is a Windows-based GUI application designed to help Commodore enthusiasts explore and manage their disk image collections.
DirMaster supports common (and uncommon) emulator disk image formats (such as .d64, .d81, .d2m, etc), almost every native Commodore archival format (such as .arc, .sda, .lnx, etc), and many native graphic formats (such as koala, doodle, amica, etc).
DirMaster was designed to give users a perfect blend of familiar appearance (e.g. natural looking disk image contents using the PETSCII character set) and modern GUI functionality (e.g. drag and drop, opening multiple disk images at once). The first version of DirMaster was released in 2006.
v3.1.2 addresses a few bugs reported by users:
- Workaround for high dpi issues reported by users on Windows 10 (Windows 7/8 still affected, known issue)
- Drag/drop from a disk image to the file system handles “broken” files more gracefully.
- Corrects issue moving .cvt files between disk images.
- Page up/down works in the petscii column on the sector editor.
- Tweaks: hexedit font toggling, BAM view, Explorer preview font size.

This Amiga 2000 is arrived in my lab in very poor condition in April 2016, the computer has been repaired and stored in an antistatic envelope.
Tested after almost 3 years, the computer does not show signs of life.
Having no video output, i have used the Chucky DIAGROM which through a serial connection i was able to identify 2 different problems with the RAM’s.
Defect:
Repair:
- Rebuilt track on the 68000 DX side near resistor pack RP900 (previously good)
- Rebuilt track RAM U529 signal CAS (previously good)
- Replaced RAM LM 33256 U501 with TMS 4256 (previously working)

AVGCART – SD multicart for 8bit Atari features:
- Supports CAR files up to 1MB (most bankswitching types are implemented)
- Supports XEX files.
- Supports ATR files (read/write) – support is limited due to cartridge port constraints.
- SIDE emulation (works with U1MB and SpartaDOS X)
- Firmware is upgradeable via SD card.
Keyboard reference:
- arrows to navigate the list, with CTRL jump to beginning/end of page/list
- BACKSPACE for parent dir
- ENTER and letters choose item
- TAB to select multiple ATR files (right cart button to cycle them afterwards)
- ESC disables cart and resets Atari
- / for recursive search, use ESC to return to full navigation
- SHIFT-S enables SIDE CCTL registers and resets
Use left cart button to return to file selector (after reset), right cart button resets current cart’s bank (also cycles ATR files)

The video can be only downloaded, because Youtube and Facebook have blocked the video streaming for copyrighted content, really ridiculous as the audio tracks are not complete and certainly not faithful to the original.
My personal note; the only two home computers that i follow with passion are Commodore & Atari.

The High Voltage SID Collection (HVSC) is a freeware hobby project which organises Commodore 64 music (also known as SID music) into an archive for both musicians and fans alike.
The work on the collection is done completely in the Team and contributors’ spare time and is proudly one of the largest and most accurate computer music collections known.
This update features (all approximates):
- 658 new SIDs
- 66 fixed/better rips
- 3 repeats/bad rips eliminated
- 174 SID credit fixes
- 27 SID model/clock infos
- 7 tunes from /DEMOS/UNKNOWN/ identified
- 1 tunes from /GAMES/ identified
- 22 tunes moved out of /DEMOS/ to their composers’ directories
- 4 tunes moved out of /GAMES/ to their composers’ directories

I could not resist the temptation to try also this “we hope it will be the last one!” FPGA implementation of the SID (Sound Interface Device) MOS 6581 / 8580, i’m talking about the fpgaSID by andi6510.
Probably this is the best implementation using an FPGA of the sound chip of the Commodore 64. If we make a quick comparison with the implementation made by Gideon for the Ultimate-64, both are the best ever.
It remains however understood that the audiophiles and purist of the sound generated of a original SID will never accept any implementation of the SID via FPGA.
andi6510 also wrote a software for the Commodore 64 (ConfiGuru) to configure the various fpgaSID options and for upgrade the firmware.
Below some information taken from the fpgaSID site.
Accurate replication of the original SID MOS6581 and MOS8580:
- Exact reproduction of the digital sound generation part
- Spice simulation of the analog filters
- Advanced models for all 6581 non-linearities
Many extra features on top of the original SID:
