Questa riparazione e’ stata fatta solo per una sfida personale, il computer risulta comunque instabile e con diversi componenti guasti.

Dopo l’accurata pulizia il computer presenta questi problemi:

• TED MOS 8360R2 non funzionante (la tastiera non funziona) anche sostituendo il TED non funziona, il TED e’ stato provato con un Commodore 16 funzionante e la tastiera continua a non funzionare.
• PIO MOS 6529 da sostituire. La tastiera non funziona.
• CPU MOS 8501 defunta.
• Porte Joystick (vedi foto)
• Il Connettore Cartuccia deve essere sostituito.
• Modulatore senza coperchio (Sopra e Sotto)
• Bisognerebbe sostituire gli zoccoli del TED e della CPU.
• Altri pezzi arruginiti.

Ho ricevuto da un’amico due Sinclair ZX-81 da riparare e approfittando del momento “sinclair” :-D ho riparato anche uno dei miei ZX-81 che e’ morto restando spento per anni :-(

Due su tre ZX-81 avevano l’ULA fottuta , mentre il terzo aveva la membrana disintegrata e corto circuiti causati da qualcuno che NON sapeva dissaldare/saldare correttamente.

Ho recuperato l’ULA da questo ultimo e ho sistemato quello che era messo meglio dei due aprofittando di fare anche la modifica Video Composito con il kit ZX8-CCB.

Ho riparato anche il mio ZX-81 sempre con l’ULA fottuta e installato la modifica Video Composito con il kit ZX8-CCB.

Ringrazio Marco Lucarelli per avermi regalato la modifica Video Composito e avermi lasciato per spare parts uno dei due ZX-81 senza ULA / membrana disintegrata e diversi cortocircuiti.

Jean-François DEL NERO (la persona che sta dietro lo sviluppo dell’emulatore Floppy HxC SD) ha recentemente rilasciato una versione del firmware HxC compatibile con il chip STM32 utilizzato nel Floppy Drive Gotek.

Questo significa che possiamo godere di quasi tutte le features che il firmware HxC supporta anche per l’economico Floppy Drive Gotek.

Il bootloader per convertire il floppy drive Gotek in HxC compatibile va acquistato sul sito di HXC 2001 inviando un’email a Jean-François DEL NERO. Il prezzo del bootloader e’ di 10 euro una tantum per ogni Gotek che si vuole aggiornare/convertire. Gli aggiornamenti successivi del software sono gratuti e possono essere fatti da chiavetta USB.

Pocket-Go (Bitt-Boy Landscape version) / LDK Game (Landscape version) Open Source Retro Gaming Handhelds.

Sono sempre stato affascinato da queste piccole console portatili di ultima generazione sopratutto per il costo contenuto.

Queste piccole console arrivano ad emulare discretamente bene la maggior parte dei giochi per console e computer e vengono supportate da un’attiva comunita’ di appassionati.

Cosa sono le DiagROM?

Le DiagROM sono delle ROM diagnostiche per gli Home Computer della serie Commodore Amiga. Queste ROM tornano molto utili in alcune sistuazioni, tipo quando il computer non esegue correttamente il boot o si blocca.

Changelog:

• Now Diskdrivetest should work on most machines.
• Memchecks should now detect non working ram better.
• Experimental CIA test added that should work on NTSC machines aswell. MIGHT give false results on TOD-B tests. It will still say that IRQ is needed, this is not true :)
• Added RGB Test.
• Usual “bugfixes” pressing left mousebutton when chipmemdetect starts skips serial output and makes startup faster. holding down left mousebutton while doing memscan at start skips memtests. (good if it hangs during scan. known not found bug yet!)
• Updated to tested values if new CIA test that should be more correct.
• Also in memoryedit mode (memtest) added pageup/down functions with Q and Z keys.
• (or Amigastandard shift+cursor keys) also added official support to execute code from current locaton using the X key. (this is very much not really useful for most people)
