Commodore Amiga 4000 – 64Mb Fast Memory Hack.

La scheda madre dell’Amiga 4000 può essere ‘modificata’ per gestire 64Mb di Fast Memory (4 Moduli SIMM da 16MB l’uno)

Per fare questo è necessario saldare un nuovo chip GAL e fare alcuni ponticelli tra la Fastram SIMM -> GAL -> CHIP RAMSEY.

Il lavoro non è complicato ma è necessario avere una buona pratica con il saldatore e saldature di zoccoli PLCC.

Upgrading Commodore A3640 CPU Card (seconda parte)

Ho sostituito la CPU 060 versione EC con una 060 FULL con FPU REV 1.

Quando nell’adattatore viene installata una versione non EC del 060 bisogna anche utilizzare una versione a doc del kickstart v3.1 con la exec.library modificata per supportare la FPU.

Aggiornamento Commodore A3640 CPU Card (prima parte)

Lavori che sono stati fatti:

• Aggiornamento GAL (U204 & U209)
• Zoccolo per Oscillatore.
• Overclocking.
• Sostituzione condensatori elettrolitici (il recap era’ gia’ stato fatto ma per utilizzare l’adattatore CPU 040 -> 060 i condensatori devono essere smd per via del poco spazio disponibile)
• Adattatore CPU 040 -> 060.
• CPU Motorola 68EC060

Riparazione Commodore Amiga 4000 con il Floppy Drive che non viene riconosciuto.

Difetto:

• Floppy Drive Dead (non riconosciuto)

Repair:

• Sostituzione CIA 8520 (U300).

Riparazione Monitor Commodore 1084S-P.

Difetto:

• Completamente morto con un forte fischio in sottofondo.

Riparazione:

• Appena sostituito il trasformatore di riga (AT2079 / 30102) tutto ha iniziato a funzionare perfettamente.
• È obbligatorio eseguire una calibrazione dello SCREEN e FOCUS con i due trimmer posizionati sul retro del trasformatore di riga.

Nota:

Un forte rumore come un fischio indica “quasi” sempre un malfunzionamento del trasforomatore di riga (noto anche come LOPT).

Commodore CBM 8032 (HP Early version [1980]) Motherboard Repair (ASSY 8032030)

Difetto:

• Caratteri confusi e senza senso.

Riparazione:

• Sostituzione 4 x 2114 Static RAM (UC4 / UC5 / UC6 / UC7)

Note:

Come si puo’ notare dalle foto questo computer era gia’ stato riparato da un macellaio. Il macellaio non ha utilizzato degli zoccoletti dopo la sostituzione delle ram statiche e le piste avevano gia’ sofferto alla prima dissaldatura e saldatura probabilmente utilizzando una saldatore non adatto.
