Non ho scoperto assolutamente nulla di nuovo, e’ tutto spiegato in questi video:

Sono assolutamente contrario al retrobright ma ho voluto tentare la sorte con uno dei VIC-20 quasi totalmente ingiallito, una tastiera di un’Amiga 1200 e il TOP Cover sempre di un’Amiga 1200.
Molte persone mi hanno detto di provare, ma non essendo d’accordo a questa tecnica non lo mai fatto, ma in un secondo momento e’ arrivato il mio amico Federico di Dato di Retrobitlab
che lo ha provato personalmente ed effetivamente sembrava funzionare, premetto che fin da subito non ci credevo, mi sembrava una cazzata cosmica.
Ok, mi devo ricredere, funziona!, qui di seguito ci sono le varie fasi e tempi di esposizione al sole (una bella giornata di sole!)
VIC-20 (fronte):
- Iniziamo dalla prima foto appena esposto sotto il sole, poi 6 ore, 7 ore, 7 ore per un totale di 3 giorni = 20 ore.
VIC-20 (retro):
- Iniziamo dalla prima foto appena esposto sotto il sole, poi 2 ore e 30 minuti, 7 ore e 30 minuti per un totale di 2 giorni = 10 ore.
Amiga 1200 Keyboard:
- Iniziamo dalla prima foto appena esposto sotto il sole, poi 7 ore e 30 minuti x 3 giorni = 22 ore e 30 minuti.
Amiga 1200 TOP Case:
- Iniziamo dalla prima foto appena esposto sotto il sole, poi 7 ore e 30 minuti x 3 giorni = 22 ore e 30 minuti.
Non ho utilizzato nessun prodotto chimico e’ bastatato lasciare al sole, non c’e’ altro da dire.

To switch the joystick in use between joystick port 1 or port 2 when running a C64 program, press and hold the joystick ☰ button, and then pressing joystick Ⓐ for port 1 or joystick Ⓑ for port 2. This will override the J1 filename flag or CJM primary port setting, if either are supplied.

Il cavo parallelo Commodore è un cavo complementare del cavo seriale Commodore (IEC) e offre una connessione parallela aggiuntiva tra un’unità Commodore 1541, 1570 o 1571 e il computer Commodore 64 o tramite XUM1541 (PROMICRO)/ZoomFloppy …
Il cavo è supportato dal seguente software Commodore:
- Acceleratori DOS Dolphin DOS e SpeedDOS.
- I Copiatori Disco; 15 Second Copy, Burst Nibbler e Maverick.
VIA 6522 Fix:
Con l’unità disco Commodore 1541-II c’e’ ancora qualcosa da fare dopo l’installazione del cavo parallelo, è necessario anche tagliare la traccia tra il PIN1 e il PIN2 del VIA 6522 (lo stesso VIA dove e’ stato installato il cavo parallelo).

Una persona bisognosa del mio aiuto di cui ho gia’ riparato diversi apparati, mi ha contattato e mi ha chiesto se potevo eseguire una riparazione di uno dei suoi Commodore PET che presentava due guasti diversi.
- Il primo guasto era schermo nero all’accensione, ovvero nessuna immagine veniva visualizzata.
- Il secondo guasto che si e’ presentato dopo un paio di giorni, era una distorsone raster del monitor CRT accompagnato da una puzza di bruciato (vedi foto)
Il primo guasto e’ stato risolto sostituendo la ROM UD7 (901465-02) con un’eprom (2532), il test del corretto funzionamento lo potuto fare collegando tramite un’adattatore video il monitor LCD che utilizzo per le riparazioni.
Il secondo guasto e’ stato brillantemente risolto sostituendo il regolatore di tensione installato nel pcb monitor, un 7812 che sul piedino di uscita non sempre tornava i 12v ma bensi’ un mix tra 3v,6v,10v
Inoltre ho rimosso alcuni pezzi di gommapiuma (vedi foto) che per colpa del collante che veniva utilizzato aveva intaccato la parte posteriore del PCB del monitor lasciando delle evidenti tracce di corrosione e una macchia appiccicaticcia nera che ho rimosso.
Ho ricostruito anche il piedino mancante della ROM UF14 (901447-10) che qualcuno aveva pensato di sistemare in maniera Molto grezza (vedi foto)

Cosa sono le DiagROM?
Le DiagROM sono delle ROM diagnostiche per gli Home Computer della serie Commodore Amiga. Queste ROM tornano molto utili in alcune sistuazioni, tipo quando il computer non esegue correttamente il boot o si blocca.

WOW This is a long time since I updated this. And lets be honest. I have forgot what i have changed.
BUT one thing I just been thinking. I have bumped the versionnumber in the wrong “end”.. so as I am working on a new init-routine. I consider this is the “stable” one.
So I bump the serialnumber to 1.2.1. I have been too busy with hardware so I must confess I haven’t coded so much on DiagROM. I have made some minor bugfixes etc.
I must still warn that if a routine is experimental you cannot really trust the tests.
Anyway in hope for the best in the future. the “daily” will for a while be a little “jumpy” while I get the new init working. This should be useful meanwhile.
