Con ASAP Music Player si torna indietro di 20 anni, dato che si possono ascoltare le musiche dell’Atari 8-bit su Windows / Mobile (Android) /Linux. ASAP emula in modo perfetto il chip audio POKEY e il processore 6502.
Il progetto era inizialmente basato sulle routine utilizzate dall’emulatore Atari800, ma la versione attuale ha un core di emulazione completamente nuovo.
Changelog ASAP 3.1.2 (2012-06-25):
- Created VLC plugin (SAP format only).
- The JavaScript player now works in Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer 9 and 6, using XAudioJS.
- Flash Player, Java applet, Silverlight and JavaScript players were put in a single “web” package.
- UTF-8 encoding is supported for STIL.
- Author is no longer hidden in the converted XEX files.
- Winamp plugin opens ATR disk images and plays files inside them.
- Audacious plugin updated to Audacious 3.2 and compiled for Windows.
- BASS add-on updated to be compatible with AIMP 3 (SAP format only).
- Enabled title/author/year in the BASS add-on (only selected BASS-based players use it, for example EncoreBassing).
- Windows Media Player codec supports subsongs, AUTHOR and NAME (this works at least with Media Player Classic Home Cinema).
- JavaScript interface of the web players has been extended and now has same functionality.
- New TortoiseSVN and TortoiseGit plugins show changes in SAP tags.

Line Runner è disponibile per Atari 800XL, 65XE, 130XE, 1200XL, sia PAL che NTSC ed è disponibile anche una versione cartuccia ad un prezzo molto interessante.

Beta 120.23 – note from the author:
i found 3 bugs in the tone-bend routine. and i have also change 2 of the functions in the program.
Before note-lock was affecting both S1 and S2 now you can set it to s1,s2 or both. I have also change bend-mode ramp-off to only turn off the source that is being bent. So if you bend only S1 then it is only S1 that is turn off after the bend is finish

Atari SAP Music Archive (ASMA) è una collezione di brani musicali Atari XL-XE. ASAP e’ una delle raccolte musicali più grandi e conosciute.
ASMA v3.5 contiene 4317 brani, 460 dei quali sono nuovi! Inoltre il programma SAPMaker è stato ricompilato per essere eseguito con le versioni più recenti di Windows.

Questa interfaccia per Atari 8-bit via dara’ la possibilita’ di utilizzare lo stack TCP/IP per i computer della serie Atari 8-bit.
Gran parte del lavoro è già stato fatto grazie ad alcune persone di grande talento nella comunità Atari. L’hardware e il software è stato sviluppato originariamente da Chris Martin e testato da Mark Dusko.
Il software si basa sul lavoro già svolto dalla comunità del Commodore 64, questa interfaccia vi permetterà di utilizzare telnet, e-mail, navigazione web e un web server tramite il sistema operativo Contiki.
