Philips Videopac+ G7400 RGB/Composite Hack – Repair – Recap

Ho ricevuto in regalo dal mio caro amico Andrea Pierdomenico di cui ringrazio la console Videopac+ G7400 e il modulo BASIC Microsoft + alcune cartridges che vanno ad aggiungersi alla mia collezione di cartucce videopac.

Questa console bensi funzionante soffriva di alcuni problemi:

  • Interuttore accensione non funzionante (come accade praticamente sempre con questa console)
  • Un condensatore dello stadio alimentazione con un piedino spezzato.

I lavori che sono stati fatti:

  • Sostituzione interuttore di alimentazione con uno compatibile.
  • Completo recap di tutto lo stadio alimentazione.
  • RGB/Composite HACK per una resa video senza paragoni.
  • Rimozione modulo RF.
  • Spostato cavo di Alimentazione 220v nel foro dove usciva il cavo antenna RF.
  • Due cavi video (Composito-Audio / RGB-Audio)

    Hey xAD, how are you? I’ll do this exact mod on my G7400 (in fact I was researching about it yesterday, talk about coincidences!) and I was wondering: do you think it would be possible to convert the G7400 from 50 to 60Hz, by replacing a crystal?

    Unfortunately you have to look for a similar one and adapt it as i did.

    ..I have a Friend that’s G7400 has a power supply issue, he plugged it in and heard a pop.. assuming it’s a cap, seen what you did to your power supply, do you have a Parts list on what to replace? would like to recap his and see if that’s the issue, many thanks to you.. take care ..

    Probably a polyester or electrolytic capacitor is exploded. Replace all capacitors.

    I don’t have a list of the capacitors, i have read the value on it.

    Unfortunately you have to look for a similar one and adapt it as i did.

    so can we ask where you got your switch?? also in the market for one.. i live in the U.S and I’m sure Europewould be the place to fine and buy this power switch..

    Pay attention to not reverse the connections otherwise it you will burn everything.

    listen need to ask .. 2night I did find a popped Cap, replaced it plugged it in was still dead..
    then i said ok i have a parts console i know it worked, took the power supply out of that one put it in the console with the issue.. plugged it in still dead.. then before i unplugged it “POP” the same cap on my spare Board popped.. any thoughts??
    ya think the board is bad??

    Probably there is a fault on the main mainboard or other, unfortunately remotely it is really difficult to repair something and given the long distance between you and me it is not even convenient to repair.

    Try to find a good repairman in your area or buy a new console, solution probably much cheaper.
