Conversione Amiga 500 (8A) (512k Chip RAM) to 500+ (1MB CHIP Ram)

Conversione Amiga 500 REV 8A (512k Chip RAM) to 500+ (1MB CHIP Ram)

Hi,
Does the Real Time Clock require a battery to retain the date when the power is switched off.
Yes the Battery would be needed otherwise the clock will stop running. Of course don’t use a NiCad replacement either!
Can it then also accept an extra meg of chip-ram? I think so since the mux is installed, just wanted to be sure since I’ve got one of those mobo, and I was planning to do the same mod…
Hi, thank you.
Considering you are upgrading only RAM memory but not clock signal…
What should be done about JP7a and JP9?
Not sure if I should modification them (I am not going to put clock signal nor Xtal yet).
Thanks
You only modify JP9 when you want to add RTC. You do not modify JP7A (default setting (o o-o)) if you do not have the trap-door RAM extension.
