La “High Voltage SID Collection (HVSC)” è un collezione che raccoglie migliaia di brani musicali del Commodore 64 (noti anche come brani SID).

Questa collezione e’ completamente gratuita ed e’ opera di un Team di persone che negli anni ha lavorato per rendere la migliore raccolta di SID tunes.

The return of the Hybrid Sid Player by xAD/Nightfall

Based on the Project and Hardware Schematic by Markus Gritsch released in the years 2011-2015 on the forum dangerousprototypes. Thanks Markus.

• Playing the song “Acrouzet_-_Your_Indecision.sid” i found a bug, the Player did not choose the right Timing for NTSC and consequently the playback of the song was too slow.The problem was that this song uses VBI with NTSC timing, usually you can find CIA songs with NTSC timing. It was a bug in the player that it couldn’t get the correct information from the SID header.

E’ stata rilasciata una nuova versione del programma CBM prg Studio. Ci sono un sacco di nuove funzionalità e fix in questa versione e sono sempre gradite le segnalazioni di bug o suggerimenti/commenti.

CBM prg Studio e’ un kit di sviluppo che gira in ambiente Windows e vi permette di programmare in Commodore Basic e Linguaggio Macchina(LM), il programma potrà poi essere compilato in un file eseguibile “.PRG” per Commodore 64 / VIC-20 o PET.

La suite è anche completa di un ottimo sprite editor che permette di definire fino a 128 pattern, nonché di un funzionale char editor, che permette di avere una gestione completa e sotto controllo della procedura per la ridefinizione del charset interno al C64 e al Vic20.

Infine il CBM prg Studio, offre una completo e facile controllo della complessa gestione della tastiera del C64 e Vic20 ed in particolare dei caratteri PETSCII che contraddistinguevano le macchine sotto il marchio Commodore e che rappresentavano una chiave fondamentale per la programmazione in ambiente Basic, alla stregua di un vero e proprio macro linguaggio.

System Requirements:

Questa modifica RGB di Yannick Erb e’ stata pensata per funzionare su tre console differenti:

• VideoPac incluso BG Color Fix
• Intellivision solo versioni con LM1886N
• Atari 2600

Ho voluto provare questa modifica RGB sebbene sono la persona che aveva realizzato la ZOE RGB nel lontano 2013 per Intellivision ma sul mio Intellivision avevo ancora installato il prototipo grezzo della modifica e non avendo piu tempo e voglia di assemblare l’ interfaccia ZOE RGB per Intellivision ho deciso di provare questa di Yannick che e’ sostanzialmente identica alla mia interfaccia.

Ho configurato la mod RGB per funzionare con intellivision, ci sono alcuni ponticelli da configurare, tutto ha funzionato al primo colpo l’immagine e’ nitida e stabile grazie anche a un piccolo accorgimento che questa mod include, un condensatore sulla linea del SYNC che rende l’immagine piu’ stabile in alcune situazioni.

Ho inoltre aprofittato di rimuovere completamente il modulatore RF (assolutamente inutile) e nel foro della spina antenna ho fissato il connettore DIN per l’uscita RGB / Audio e Switching SCART, ho anche sostituito il cavo flat di alimentazione della motherboard intellivision perche’ si era completamente disintegrato.

MOS Technology 6581/8580 SID (Sound Interface Device) Tatoo

Io, dopo aver fatto l’ennesimo acquisto inutile.

Cerco di spiegare l’accaduto; sapevo gia’ dell’esistenza di questo prodotto ma avendone uno praticamente simile se non identico ho rinunciato ma ho sempre tenuto d’occhio il FNIRSI LCR-P1 che e’ costruito un po’ meglio, piu’ leggero e il firmware viene aggiornato di frequente e di conseguenza alcuni bug vengono risolti, pero’ 28,00 euro, anche no!

Mi sono iscritto per la ventesima volta ad aliexpress creando un nuovo account, il prezzo da 28,00 euro e’ sceso a 18,00 euro come primo acquisto su Aliexpress ma era ancora troppo.

Ho cercato su internet buoni sconto per aliexpress, si trovano, ho trovato un buono sconto di 6,00 euro (dopo averne provati almeno una ventina ha funzionato) lo applicato e il totale a questo punto ammontava a 12,00 euro spedito. Come non acquistare una cosa a 12,00 euro! come?

Il prodotto e’ buono, simile al precedente che potete trovare qui con la recensione e foto.

Dunque non sto a scrivere tutto di nuovo quello che avevo gia’ scritto nell’altro post, e’ identico ma un po’ meglio.

SIDKick pico di Frenetic è un sostituto del chip SID per C64 basato su microcontrollore. Gli ingressi analogici per paddle e mouse sono disponibili proprio come per il SID originale.

This release contains the firmware for SIDKick pico with only minor changes:

• The reset behavior has been modified to avoid the problems reported for old ultimax cartridges (e.g. Jupiter Lander).

Note:

There are different .uf2-files are firmware files with PWM and/or DAC output, flashing (RGB-)LED on/off AND for hardware revision 0.1 and 0.2, and the new SIDKick pico2040DAC.

Il detto “se spendi poco aspettati poco” non e’ sempre valido e questo potrebbe essere un’esempio.

Vorrei solo precisare prima di ricevere insulti gratuiti che questi strumenti sono destinati per un utilizzo Hobbistico e NON Professionale.

FNIRSI (Shenzhen FNIRSI Technology Co., Ltd.) e’ una grossa casa produttrice cinese di strumentazione per elettronica a basso costo, dato il costo molto contenuto ho voluto provare tre prodotti e sono rimasto piacevolmente sorpreso dal funzionamento e dalla precisione, risultano meno ‘cineserie’ di altri prodotti allo stesso prezzo.

Ho voluto fare una semplice comparazione con il FNIRSI® 2C53T (3in1 Oscilloscope 50MHz,Multimeter,Signal Generator) e con il mio ormai vetusto oscilloscopio della WELEC W2022A che sta perdendo colpi e andrebbe sostituito, ma detto questo il FNIRSI si difende bene e per alcune misurazioni risulta piu’ preciso, stessa cosa vale per il modello piu’ piccolo ovvero il DSO-153 2-IN-1.

Lo Smart Digital Tweezer risulta senza alcun dubbio comodissimo e abbastanza preciso, ho notato qualche titubanza sulla misurazione dei Condensatori Elettrolitici anche dopo la calibrazione, mentre e’ accettabile per la misurazione di Induttanze,Resistenze e Condensatori (esempio Ceramici,Poliestere), un’altro punto di forza e’ calamitato (vedi foto) viene fornita una piccola placca in metallo adesiva.

Attenzione ci sono diverse opzioni di acquisto per questi prodotti, alcuni includono tutti gli accessori altre no, ovviamente costa di meno.

Custodia Breadbin per Commodore 64: il tuo colore, il tuo stile.

La Breadbin è tornata, ed è migliore che mai!

Ho sostituito il case in stile Commodore 64C colore SX64 acquistato nel lontano 2017 da return-magazin.de del mio Commodore 64 con U64 prima versione con il nuovo case trasparente in stile Breadbin campagna indiegogo.

Come si puo’ vedere dalle foto c’e’ anche una nuova copertura parapolvere trasparente, la nuova tastiera campagna indiegogo di alcuni anni fa, la strip led interna e’ stata configurata per utilizzare solo il colore bianco con luminosita’ media.
