Texas Instruments TI-99/4 Fixed
Difetto:
- Schermo Spazzatura immediato o dopo pochi minuti.
Fix:
- Questo difetto assomiglia molto a quello che si presenta anche con la console Coleco Vision.
Il problema e’ l’interuttore di accensione ossidato, una spruzzata di R-11 e’ il problema sparisce completamente.
Ho lasciato acceso il computer per oltre 2 ore e ho fatto un ciclo di almeno 50 accensioni (ON/OFF) e il problema non si e’ mai piu’ ripresentato.
Note:
La diagnosi fatta da remoto senza avere il TI-99/4 in laboratorio aveva fatto pensare ad un problema di VDP RAM.
Per evitare di utilizzare il modulatore RF in dotazione ho utilizzato un cavo Composito per Commodore 64 che funziona egregiamente con uscita videocomposita NTSC.

Ikari ha rilasciato il nuovo firmware per la SD2Snes la Flash Cartridge per Super Nintendo/Famicom. Le istruzioni per l’aggiornamento le potete trovare qui.

- clear entire SPC700 RAM (do not spare IPL area) – fixes echo artifacts in many games

- resize SPC player loading window
- prevent flickering letters on System Information screen

- Uno switch del DIP Switch era in una posizione sbagliata.
- Saldati i fili in modo approssimativo del led di accensione dove i piedini si sono spezzati alla base del led.
- Inserita la CPU Z80 (DF8) mancante.
La tastiera non funziona molto bene, alcuni tasti sono totalmente morti.

SpartaDOS X (o SpartaDOS 4.0) è un sistema operativo per i computer Atari 8-bit, questo sistema operativo assomiglia all’MS-DOS ed ‘stato sviluppato e venduto da ICD Inc. nel 1987-1993.
Dieci anni più tardi il sistema operativo SpartaDOS X e’ diventato abandonware, approfittando di questo evento un gruppo di sviluppatori appassionati di retro-computer, in fattispecie di Atari 8-bit, hanno ripreso in mano il codice aggiungendo numerose migliorie e risolvendo molti bug che erano stati identificati tempo addietro.

Jurassic News è una fanzine realizzata da appassionati di retro computing con lo scopo di dare vita ad un periodico gratuito che tratti l’informatica delle origini.
Tutti hanno sentito parlare del Commodore64, dello Spectrum o dell’Apple II (tanto per citarne alcuni): sono i nomi fantasiosi dei primi calcolatori personali veramente alla portata di tutti. Qualcuno di voi ne ha posseduto uno o magari lo possiede ancora e ricorda l’eccitazione di quei primi passi nel mondo dell’informatica che ora è ormai esplosa e permanea tutta la nostra vita quotidiana.
Coloro che ricordano con nostalgia la pionieristica atmosfera dei primi approcci al BASIC o al linguaggio macchina o che semplicemente hanno passato molte ore cercando di superare quel livello di gioco che sembrava impossibile, troveranno in J.N. la stessa atmosfera di un tempo.

A new firmware and flashtool is availible for Sys-Check V2 series.
The new flashtool now supports both Sys-Check PCBs equipped with a SST39SF010A flash chip (V2.1 and V2.2). When you start the flashtool, it will ask you which version you have. To be absolutely sure, the flashtool shows a simplified graphic view of both versions. I think, everybody can handle it :)
Of course the flashtool (and all other documents) are written in german and english.
Also there´s a new firmware V1.4 out. This firmware can be used with ALL Sys-Check versions – also with the old V2.0 (without flash). Owners of the V2.0 must burn the 16 KB firmware image into a 27128 EPROM. All other please use the flashtool to update their Sys-Check.
V1.4 has this minor changes:
- Sys-Check can be used with the U1MB expansion.
- The new version first checks the whole memory (to be more exact… the first 48 KByte) and then displays the defective bits (if there are any…)
- When bad memory within the first 48 KB is found, the upper 16 KB will not be tested.
- If memory is fine, OS-ROM will be tested as before.
- If both tests are fine, then pressing START after this will set Sys-Check into endless loop test mode. Memory and OS-ROM are tested infinite – until any error occurs.
- During memory tests the background will be coloured red if defective bits were detected.

Questa collezione e’ completamente gratuita ed e’ opera di un Team di persone che negli anni ha lavorato per rendere la migliore raccolta di SID tunes.

- Perdita di acido dalla batteria.

- Rimossa la batteria.
- Pulizia stampato con il prodotto PCC Kontakt
- Spruzzato prodotto DUE-CI G-22 in tutti i zoccoletti.
- Fatti dieci ponticelli per ripristinare le tracce corrose dall’acido della batteria.
