Cosa sono le DiagROM?

Le DiagROM sono delle ROM diagnostiche per gli Home Computer della serie Commodore Amiga. Queste ROM tornano molto utili in alcune sistuazioni, tipo quando il computer non esegue correttamente il boot o si blocca.

  • Totally rewritten Autoconfig, now handles Z2 and Z3 and should be working. if you get stuck in a loop (autoconfig not working) it
  • will halt after 32 “boards”. Also in ManualEdit mode, I have inlcuded a function to turn on/off cache. to debug cacheissues on CPU Cards.
  • BE CAREFUL! this WILL crash if you run it on a 68000/010
  • Also fixed bug of garbage in menus.

Jean-François DEL NERO (la persona che sta dietro lo sviluppo del Floppy emulator HxC SD) ha recentemente rilasciato una versione del firmware HxC compatibile con il chip STM32 utilizzato nel Floppy Drive Gotek.

Questo significa che possiamo godere di quasi tutte le features che il firmware HxC supporta anche per l’economico Floppy Drive Gotek.

Il bootloader per convertire il floppy drive Gotek in HxC compatibile va acquistato sul sito di HXC 2001 inviando un’email a Jean-François DEL NERO. Il prezzo del bootloader e’ di 10 euro una tantum per ogni Gotek che si vuole aggiornare/convertire. Gli aggiornamenti successivi del software sono gratuti e possono essere fatti da chiavetta USB.

Pratico e funzionale adattatore progettato da Rolo che permette di utilizzare la Rolo Multi-Cartridge anche sulla console Interton VC4000.

Questa e’ una semplicissima modifica per prelevare il segnale video composito e audio dalla console Interton VC4000.

Bisogna rimuovere il modulatore RF (consiglio di rimuoverlo completamente) dissaldando tutti i piedini e quindi collegare come si vede nella foto il segnale Video (V) Audio (A) e la massa (G) e far uscire il cavo video e audio da dove usciva il vecchio cavo RF.

Olivetti Prodest 128S (Acorn BBC Master Compact) Modding

Ho trovato nello scatolone delle cose inutili due Olivetti Prodest 128S che mi sono stati regalati molto tempo fa’ da un caro amico: Andrea Pierdomenico.

Ambedue i computer sono senza modulo esterno Floppy Drive e Alimentatore.

Tra i due computer trovati ho scelto quello che esteticamente era il meno peggiore e’ ho fatto un modding per poterlo utilizzare con un monitor VGA e SDCard al posto dei Floppy Disk piu’ alcuni extra.

Qui di seguito le modifiche che sono state fatte:

• Sostituita la ROM originale Olivetti (EPROM 27C512) con la ROM originale dell’Acorn BBC Master Compact (versione MOS 5510)
• Installato l’interfaccia di conversione Video da RGB a VGA (GBS8200 v4.0) all’interno del computer.
• Rimosso il connettore video (YPbPr) della GBS8200 perche’ impediva la chiusura del computer.
• FIX del condensatore elettrolitico per la GBS8200
• Installato l’interuttore di accensione.
• Tagliate due piste dello stampato per far funzionare l’interuttore.
• Installato il connettore VGA esterno.
• Sostituito il LED Rosso di accensione con uno di colore Verde.
• Utilizzato un’alimentatore esterno da 5v / 2.5A.
• Installato un potenziometro da 10k per regolare il volume audio.
• Tagliata una pista dello stampato per poter utilizzare il potenziometro del volume, altrimenti la regolazione non funziona.
• Installata l’interfaccia TurboMMC (vedi foto del pinout per l’installazione interna).
• Installata la TurboMMC Eprom.

Case sostitutivo per il Commodore 64C in stile SX-64.

Il case sostitutivo per il Commodore C64C è molto benfatto, identico a quello originale.

Ci sono alcune imperfezioni nella plastica e nella fase di pitturazione, comunque io non cerco la perfezione. chi è perfetto? :D

… quindi, se non stai cercando la perfezione assoluta, lo consiglio a tutti.

E’ stata rilasciata una nuova versione del programma CBM prg Studio. Ci sono un sacco di nuove funzionalità e fix in questa versione e sono sempre gradite le segnalazioni di bug o suggerimenti/commenti.

CBM prg Studio e’ un kit di sviluppo che gira in ambiente Windows e vi permette di programmare in Commodore Basic e Linguaggio Macchina(LM), il programma potrà poi essere compilato in un file eseguibile “.PRG” per Commodore 64 / VIC-20 o PET.

La suite è anche completa di un ottimo sprite editor che permette di definire fino a 128 pattern, nonché di un funzionale char editor, che permette di avere una gestione completa e sotto controllo della procedura per la ridefinizione del charset interno al C64 e al Vic20.

Infine il CBM prg Studio, offre una completo e facile controllo della complessa gestione della tastiera del C64 e Vic20 ed in particolare dei caratteri PETSCII che contraddistinguevano le macchine sotto il marchio Commodore e che rappresentavano una chiave fondamentale per la programmazione in ambiente Basic, alla stregua di un vero e proprio macro linguaggio.

CBM prg Studio sostituisce le ormai obsolete Tools: C64PrgGen e VIC20PrgGen.

La Multi-cart di Rolo è stata progettata per supportare i computers della serie Dragon 32-64/CoCo 2 con le ROM su cartuccia e che vengono eseguiti dall’eprom all’indirizzo da $c000 a $ff00.

La cartuccia può contenere fino a 64 8k-rom con una dimensione delle rom che puo’ variare da 1k a 16k. È possibile scegliere uno slot di memoria da 00 a 63 anche a Computer accesso e poi premere il tasto RESET e il programma verrà avviato.

Tutto ciò vi consentirà di utilizzare in modo semplice il Dragon 32-64/CoCo 2 senza hardware aggiuntivo: nessun cavo, nessun drive, nessun alimentatore aggiuntivo.

La Multi-cart Dragon 32-64/CoCo 2 ora può essere anche utilizzata con altri sistemi.

Attualmente ci sono tre adattatori disponibili:

• VECTREX.
• Odyssey 2/ PHILIPS G7000/G7200/G7400.
• INTERTON ELECTRONIC VC 4000.

Una compilation di Rom (files) per tutti e quattro i sistemi può essere inserita su un’unica eprom (27C4001), aggiungendo versatilità al dispositivo.
