Philips Videopac G7000 un poco sporco ma perfettamente funzionante. non ho nulla da scrivere in questo post se non che ho fatto un’accurata pulizia.

Non sarebbe stato bello riporre l’intellivision molto usurato e senza un controller dentro lo scatolone dello spare parts senza nemmeno provarlo :-)

Ovviamente l’intellivision non funzionava, schermo nero.

La riparazione e’ stata semplice, ho sostituito la RAM AM9114 (U8-B) con una NEC 2114 e tutto ha ripreso a funzionare meglio di prima :-)

Inoltre ho rimosso ambedue le label che erano in condizioni pietose, sembra meglio adesso che prima.

Cosa sono le DiagROM?

Le DiagROM sono delle ROM diagnostiche per gli Home Computer della serie Commodore Amiga. Queste ROM tornano molto utili in alcune sistuazioni, tipo quando il computer non esegue correttamente il boot o si blocca.

WOW This is a long time since I updated this. And lets be honest. I have forgot what i have changed.
BUT one thing I just been thinking. I have bumped the versionnumber in the wrong “end”.. so as I am working on a new init-routine. I consider this is the “stable” one.
So I bump the serialnumber to 1.2.1. I have been too busy with hardware so I must confess I haven’t coded so much on DiagROM. I have made some minor bugfixes etc.
I must still warn that if a routine is experimental you cannot really trust the tests.
Anyway in hope for the best in the future. the “daily” will for a while be a little “jumpy” while I get the new init working. This should be useful meanwhile.

Il restauro del Sorcerer II della Compudata (Exidy) e’ stato molto semplice e’ bastato sostituire tutti i condensatori al tantalio con degli elettrolitici e dare una bella ripulita.

Ho provato il Sorcerer con del software scaricabile a questo indirizzo e per rendere meglio l’idea del lungo caricamento (media 7 minuti) ho registrato
il WAV file del formato tape su una cassetta e utilizzato un vecchio registratore per caricare il software, tutto ha funzionato alla perfezione al primo tentativo.

L’Exidy Sorcerer, prodotto da Exidy nel 1978, è stato uno dei primi home computer commercializzati.

Il computer è composto da una tastiera integrata in un contenitore al cui interno trova alloggio la scheda elettronica, comprendente la CPU Zilog Z80, 8 kB di memoria RAM (espandibile) e 8 kB di ROM, su cui è presente un monitor, un programma che permette di caricare e salvare programmi in assembly. Lateralmente una porta di espansione permette l’utilizzo di programmi salvati su cartucce denominate ROM-Pac.

Il computer fu distribuito in Europa dalla ditta CompuData, mentre negli Stati Uniti d’America fu commercializzato anche da Dynasty Computer come Dinasty Smart-Alec Sorcerer.

Il computer fu realizzato in due modelli differenti: il DP1000-1 e il DP1000-2 (il modello commercializzato da Dynasty Computer era marchiato DP1000-4), quest’ultimo capace di leggere cartucce programmi con un quantitativo doppio di ROM, 16 kB invece di 8 kB.
Il sistema operativo CP/M poteva essere utilizzato solo acquistando un modulo di espansione denominato Video/Disk che comprende un display da 12 pollici e due lettori di floppy disk.

Un altro modulo di espansione era l’”S-100 Expansion Unit”, la cui scheda elettronica permetteva di utilizzare fino a 6 schede S-100. Al computer era allegata una cartuccia contenente il Microsoft BASIC.

E’ stata rilasciata una nuova versione del programma CBM prg Studio. Ci sono un sacco di nuove funzionalità e fix in questa versione e sono sempre gradite le segnalazioni di bug o suggerimenti/commenti.

CBM prg Studio e’ un kit di sviluppo che gira in ambiente Windows e vi permette di programmare in Commodore Basic e Linguaggio Macchina(LM), il programma potrà poi essere compilato in un file eseguibile “.PRG” per Commodore 64 / VIC-20 o PET.

La suite è anche completa di un ottimo sprite editor che permette di definire fino a 128 pattern, nonché di un funzionale char editor, che permette di avere una gestione completa e sotto controllo della procedura per la ridefinizione del charset interno al C64 e al Vic20.

Infine il CBM prg Studio, offre una completo e facile controllo della complessa gestione della tastiera del C64 e Vic20 ed in particolare dei caratteri PETSCII che contraddistinguevano le macchine sotto il marchio Commodore e che rappresentavano una chiave fondamentale per la programmazione in ambiente Basic, alla stregua di un vero e proprio macro linguaggio.

CBM prg Studio sostituisce le ormai obsolete Tools: C64PrgGen e VIC20PrgGen.

Ed eccomi qui con l’ennesimo ed inutile acquisto (ordine che risale al 2019).

Non c’e’ assolutamente nulla da dire, tutti i “mini” sono praticamente identici, cambia il contenitore, il menu e qualche chip che per l’occasione viene utilizzato l’ultimo arrivato (piu o meno).

Stranamente ho provato il “coso” … di solito non faccio neanche quello.

Ho utilizzato un convertitore da HDMI a Video Composito per poterlo ALMENO provare con un monitor CRT.

Jean-François DEL NERO (la persona che sta dietro lo sviluppo dell’emulatore Floppy HxC SD) ha recentemente rilasciato una versione del firmware HxC compatibile con il chip STM32 utilizzato nel Floppy Drive Gotek.

Questo significa che possiamo godere di quasi tutte le features che il firmware HxC supporta anche per l’economico Floppy Drive Gotek.

Il bootloader per convertire il floppy drive Gotek in HxC compatibile va acquistato sul sito di HXC 2001 inviando un’email a Jean-François DEL NERO. Il prezzo del bootloader e’ di 10 euro una tantum per ogni Gotek che si vuole aggiornare/convertire. Gli aggiornamenti successivi del software sono gratuti e possono essere fatti da chiavetta USB.

• Improved performance of quickspeed from the 100Hz mode.
• Remove possibly uncommon VIC bug such that a sprite with x-position 0×163 gets drawn at 0×164. Some but not all real C64s have this bug.
• Use the new DirectX flip model if using Windows 10.
• Fix null pointer access start up crash on Windows 7.
• Automatically position the ImgUI popup when out of bounds.
• Automatic mini-dump file creation with the application folder for application crashes.
