La ZX Diag Cart di ByteDelight visualizza tutti i tipi di segnali di errore o di funzionamento del tuo ZX Spectrum, allo stesso tempo questa interfaccia e’ bella da vedere ma anche utile.
Semplifica la diagnosi dei difetti:
- Controlla rapidamente se sono presenti i voltaggi.
- Se è presente un dataline “bloccato”
- Se la linea M1 funziona…
La ZX Diag Cart rileva automaticamente a quale modello di ZX Spectrum è collegato, quindi può controllare i segnali su ZX Spectrum 16 / 48K, 128K +, +2, + 2A o +3 e molti cloni.
Test della ZX Diag Cart e Riparazione Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48k Issue 2:
Ho voluto provare questa simpatica ma anche utile interfaccia con il mio storico Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48k, neanche farlo apposta dopo diversi anni di totale inutilizzo lo ZX Spectrum non funzionava piu’.
Il difetto si presentava come un totale malfunzionamento dell’interprete Basic con errori a random e utilizzando la ZX Diag Cart mi segnalava errore su tutti i banchi di RAM da 16k.
I led di monitoraggio del voltaggio del ZX Spectrum utilizzando la ZX Diag Cart mi segnalva che mancavano i -5v e i +12v , di conseguenza non erano le RAM ma il transistor ZTX 650 (TR4)
Sostituito il transistor ha ripreso a funzionare passando tutti i test della Diag Cart.

COREi64 ha “sviluppato” due nuovi supporti per la striscia luminosa a 24 LED RGB per l’Ultimate 64 che viene installato all’interno del case C64c.
Versione ad angolo:
La sua angolazione permette alla luce dei LED RGB di uscire attraverso le feritoie di aereazione del case C64c.
Versione per montaggio su tastiera:
Questo versione si attacca alla parte posteriore della tastiera attraverso i fori presenti di fabbrica e utilizzando le viti in dotazione.
È un sistema a due pezzi, uno per il lato sinistro e uno per il lato destro.
Come per la precedente versione la luce dei LED RGB esce attraverso le feritoie di aereazione del case C64c.
Nota:
Questa versione non è completamente compatibile con il supporto per tastiera che sto utilizzando sul lato sinistro. Ho dovuto rimuovere con il seghetto un pezzo di plastica per risolvere il problema. (guarda la foto).

- Sostituito il fusibile termico con uno da 125° 2A (vedi foto).

- Il floppy drive non legge nulla sul floppy disk (la luce del led di lettura è sempre spenta e la testina di lettura non si muove)

Non pienamente soddisfatto della Pi2SCART acquistata un paio di anni fa’ ho voluto provare anche l’interfaccia RGB-Pi (Scart & Jamma) e devo dire che in accoppiata al software RGB-Pi OS fa il suo sporco lavoro.
Quello che ho apprezzato del software RGB-Pi OS e’ la possibilita di regolare le dimensioni e posizione dello schermo con estrema semplicita’ e tutti i giochi (verticali o orizzontali) si adattano perfettamente.
Il Software include anche altre migliorie che possono piacere oppure no.
Monitor utilizzato: TAXAN Vision EX Monitor.

Dopo moltissimi anni ho deciso di fare alcuni miglioramenti al mio Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48k Issue 2.
Qui di seguito quello che e’ stato fatto:
- Sostituito l’ormai obsoleto regolatore di tensione 7805 con uno piu’ moderno e performante ma sopratutto che scalda molto di meno; il TRACO Power 2450 (DC/DC Converter)
- Sostituito l’ULA Ferranti con una soluzione FPGA pienamente compatibile (vLA82 progettata e creata da Charlie Ingley). Anche in questo caso non scalda niente o molto poco.
- Sostituzione di tutti i condensatori Elettrolitici.
- Rework di una vecchia MOD Composito con una piu’ performante.
- Sosituzione Membrana e bioadesivo per fissare la tastiera con i tasti rigidi.

DirMaster è un programma per la gestione dei files del Commodore 64, del tipo (D64,. D81. T64, ecc) e anche i formati compressi ad esempio: Arc. Sda. lnx, ecc. Il programma DirMaster gira sotto M$ Windows.
Issues reported by users that were resolved in v3.1.4:
- On a d81, we cannot navigate into a subdirectory created inside a subdirectory [0193] (scott.hutter)
- A large (32 blocks) GEOS VLIR file that cannot be copied between disks [0188] (user provided test file, thank you! birt_j)
- When exiting DirMaster, saving all modified disk images by clicking “Yes to all” fails silently [0183] (stephan-andres)
- Exported .cvt files don’t conform with .cvt format’s magic string [0184] (wweicht)
- Certain small GEOS files are not exportable or copy-able between disks [0187] (user provided test files, thank you! wweicht)

Other issues resolved in v3.1.4:
- High CPU usage when BAM view is open [0198]

E’ stato rilasciato da Nobomi un nuovo aggiornamento firmware per l’ARM2SiD.
News features and fixes in FW 3.7:
- Compared to version 3.6, only marginal changes, added reading of OSC3 and ENV3 registers to the third SID emulation.
- Simplified user interface for the update application.
- Compared to version 3.5, a quick response in stereo mode was added (when using a second socket), the dual-mono mode is activated without timeout when both socket is addressed in the same time.
- Also upper addresses mapping is fixed in the update (sometimes misaligned address detection in the update application).
- Corrected bug in bootloader. If user tried an update with SFX only mode configured, the ARM2SID stuck in the bootloader and was not possible to update it on a user side. Factory update was needed. New updater disables the SFX mode, as well as patches the bootloader to prevent problems in a future.

The C64 Mini & Max. C’è a chi piace e a chi non piace.
C’è a chi piace e a chi non piace diceva Totò nel film “Totò a colori“, personalmente a me fanno vomitare entrambi. Non ho altro da dire su questi due pessimi Oggetti che cercano di EMULARE il Commodore 64 e il VIC-20 e che dovrebbero ricordare gli anni 80.
Perche’ gli ho acquistati ? gli ho acquistati perche’ mi piace collezionare cose belle e cose brutte, cose inutili e cose ancora piu’ inutili.
Dunque non c’e’ un vero e proprio “perche’”, posso solo dire che non gli ho neanche provati, sono ancora confezionati e lo resteranno per sempre.
Passo e chiudo.
Difetto:
- Rumore di sottofondo (AC) e non riproduce suono dalla cassetta.
Riparazione:
- Sostituzione di due condensatori elettrolitici da 22uf e 100uf (vedi foto)
- Pulizia generale.
